A bit about Cawsand
<p>The Mike Leigh film called Mr Turner starring Timothy Spall was filmed on location in Cawsand. In fact, the scene where Turner goes down the steps to the sea is our garden wall and those very steps are our steps! You can see all the places that it was filmed in Cawsand by visiting https://www.reelstreets.com/films/mr-turner/ - Cawsand was a substitute for Margate bizarrely where Turner actually came from! </p><p>Another film that has won lots of awards in recent years is The last Fisherman and you can <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2UGl7z-mhg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">see the trailer here</a>. In this trailer you can see the view from the sitting room of the clocktower.</p><p>Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was filmed in the gardens in the National Trust Property in Antony.</p><p>The storms that battered the Cornish coast in 2014 had a huge impact all the way up and down this coastline. The clock tower was severely damaged in this storm – you can see pictures on google if you search Cawsand clock tower storm. It stands now beautifully restored and the sea defences are also strengthen</p>
